Managing director of The Living Link, Stanley Bawden.
“We are one of only three companies selected from South Africa,” Bawden said.
The Living Link is a training centre for intellectually-disabled adults between the ages of 18 and 35 years old.
“We look to up-skill students on independent living skills and work readiness skills,” said Bawden.
Bawden explained that training was divided into two parts. Namely, training at Living Link in Parkhurst which takes six months and training at the job sampling world, where students practiced their newly-learnt skills for another six months.
“Our main aim is to get our students leading independent lives,” Bawden explained.
